We know that the vatican museum is the most visited monument of Rome with around 10.000 visitors every day and that the cost of the ticket is 13 euro ( around 15 dollars ) per person. You can imagine how much income every day the vatican gets from its visitors.
Now, the tourism is increasing in Rome every year of the 8% and the vatican instead of extending the opening hours, made an unpopular choice since January 2007.
It decided to open to the organized groups from 8.00 am to 10 am and from 10.00 am to 2.30 pm to the individuals. Do you know what does this means? That thousands of people will be unable to visit the sistine chapel every day.
We do not know who had the brilliant idea to make tougher the visit to the vatican treasures, but I can assure you that he made a terrible mistake.
The vatican museum ,first of all, should be a museum open to the visitors for more hours ( 9/10 hours) almost like the other museums of Rome ( like the Colosseum or the Borghese gallery ).

Second, they do not want to exploit the gates they really have.
