Sanh. viii. 7 means Tosephta, treatise Sanhedrin, chapter viii., section 7. O.T. = Old Testament. N.T. = New Testament. R. = Rabbi, or Rab ; thus, It. Jehoshua means Rabbi Jehoshua.
